Way back, when I had just started coaching, I got a great piece of advice.
It went something like this:
Shutup. Then listen!
Those three simple words made a big difference in how I coach. And how I do just about anything.
Now I listen all the time. And by listening I mean observing what is going on around me.
This has been huge — especially listening to my athletes.
They tell me a lots of things, often things I need to but don’t want to hear.
Then what I do with the info is the secret sauce of coaching.
It basically looks like this:
Listen — Process — Share
