Of course, there are people like us.
Other coaches like us.
Even coaches who coach the same sport as us.
There is an advantage of hanging with people like us.
We understand each other. We can help, console, and empathize with each other.
People like us know the issues we are dealing with. We can share solutions.
And make each other laugh.
But there is a downside too.
If we ONLY associate with us, we limit idea collisions.
It becomes easy to be rigid in our thinking.
WE _____ (fill in the blank) start to despise THEM _____ (fill in that one also).
Of course we want to fit in with people like us. That is the human nature of tribes.
But people not like us are people too.
And often much more like us than we think.
